Its a feat we have as many textures we got. Those textures are blendable with blendable specular maps, normals, and bump maps rendered on top of voxelates procedural terrain with realtime Sub-Surface-Scattering per texture. It gets the job done, but it's fairly primitve and unprecize. Specially working with small radius the brushes start to get wonky. I used terrain editors from 10 years ago that had better brushes and effects (Far Cry editor for example). Sorry, but the terrain editor feels like a very old editor. No other game has textures as quality as these paintable. Am I missing something? Seems in this game you should have access to any kind terrain texture you want regardless of actual biome type since you know. but there is no snow terrain texture paint.
