This early March stretch is where the Grizzlies could either make up ground or separate themselves in the playoff hunt. Even the three games against playoff teams include two first-round exits and a Philadelphia 76ers squad that currently has a James Harden problem. After three February games post all-star break, they’ll have a nine-game stretch that includes six home games and six matchups against teams that didn’t make the playoffs last season. Memphis has a chance to come out of the NBA All-Star break strong. That’s why depending on where you look, you’ll find the Grizzlies projected anywhere from a play-in team to a top seed in the west. Injuries and a 25-game Ja Morant suspension have put the Grizzlies in a unique spot, but it’s nothing we haven’t seen before. Memphis is also making some stylistic changes with a new offense that emphasizes increasing spacing and better halfcourt efficiency.
